The Nashville Cat Clinic in Nashville, Tennessee, is a full-service veterinary clinic catering to cats only. We welcome all cats to our neighborhood and to our clinic which was designed with our feline friends in mind.

We Are All About Cats

For Cats Only

We like our cats and their parents to be cozy and calm, so our environment is tailor-made for the special needs of cats. When cats are in a cat-friendly environment, they are less stressed. Established in 1992, our clinic is a dream-come-true for Dr. Mark Waldrop. By focusing on cats-only, he convened a clinic of professionals who could provide expert care because of their deep understanding and knowledge of cat behavior and cat care.

Cats are most comfortable with their familiar surroundings. When you have to load them into a carrier and place them in a car to go to the vet, they are going to be nervous on arrival. Their senses will be on high alert. Their sense of smell is fourteen times better than ours. Their hearing ability is four times what ours is. They are able to see well in low light. That’s why all conditions in our clinic are aimed at soothing and distressing. The waiting room and the exam rooms have low lighting and are quiet. There are no other pets or unusual smells to upset them. Our restraints are few and our touch gentle, which enables our veterinarian to thoroughly inspect your cat during the exam.

Keeping up in the medical profession can be overwhelming. Because cats are the center of our universe, we can fully concentrate on medical advancements and improvements in the cat world.

Our Cat Services

We deliver comprehensive care from kittens to adult cats, to include routine and emergency visits, vaccinations, spay & neuter as well as other surgeries, wellness plans, and boarding. Our newest offering is veterinary house calls which happen only on Mondays. If transportation is an issue, or your cat is too skittish, this is a service you will appreciate. At the veterinary house call visit, we will perform a general exam, administer vaccines, and take samples for laboratory investigations.

Routine exams are an essential component to a cat’s long healthy life, no matter what her age. We run preventive screens, assess your pet’s weight, review her food, update any vaccines and medications, and monitor and manage any chronic health conditions, and as always answer any questions you have about her health.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations help protect your cat against preventable and communicable diseases like rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia. Our Nashville vet staff will let you know when to bring your kitten in for her first round of vaccines and subsequent booster shots to maximize their effectiveness.

Spay & Neuter Procedure & Other Types of Pet Surgery

Spay and neuter helps prevent unwanted litters and also can improve certain aspects of your cat’s health and behavior. We also offer other types of surgery including emergency surgery and orthopedic surgery.

Pet Dental Care

Did you know that taking care of your pet’s dental health can actually extend her lifespan? Our dental care services include examinations, preventive cleanings, and surgeries including tooth extractions.

In-House Diagnostics

Sometimes we need to run lab tests of blood, urine, feces, or other samples in order to help us diagnose an underlying condition or guide treatment. Our convenient in-house diagnostics help us rule in or out conditions such as heartworm, tapeworm, urinary tract infections, and chronic health diseases like feline diabetes.

House Calls

On Mondays, our Nashville veterinary care team offers house calls for local pet parents and their kitties. This service is for well patient visits only. You may want to take advantage of this unique area of service if getting to our cat clinic is a hardship. We can run exams, take blood samples, and more, all in the comfort of your own home (this is often less stressful for your cat, as well!).

Cat Boarding

Going away or entertaining guests? If you need your kitty out of the house, we encourage you to take advantage of our cat boarding services. Your pet will be comfortable in her own space and provided with the exact type of care and attention she’ll love. We can accommodate special diets and considerations, plus we offer the benefit of medical supervision.
