Dr. RicheyDr. Richey is a 2015 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and native to Middle Tennessee. She moved back to Murfreesboro with her husband, Justin, and cat, Kitkat, to begin work with MAC in June 2015. Since then, she and Justin have had two sons, Clark and Daniel. Dr. Richey joined the Murfreesboro team as a business partner in June of 2019. Dr. Richey has a special interest in small animal dentistry, internal and integrative medicine. She achieved advanced training in small animal dentistry through elective courses at the University of Tennessee and the University of Illinois. She took multiple externships that specialized in dentistry or had advanced dentistry capabilities. She is the 2015 recipient of the Albert S. Dorn award for Excellence in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Richey believes in an integrative approach to medicine, utilizing both Western and Eastern techniques to heal and treat pets. She received special training in small and large animal acupuncture through selective rotations and externships. She uses her limited training in acupuncture and to treat geriatric arthritis, pain from IVDD, and various muscle injuries. She also promotes laser therapy which has been proven to shorten healing time on wounds, injuries, surgical sites, and alleviate pain.

Meet Our Staff
Denese Perry
A lifelong resident of Rutherford County, Denese became a member of Murfreesboro Animal Clinic in September 1979. Having filled many roles, she currently keeps Murfreesboro Animal Clinic running smoothly as our office manager. She married her soulmate Randy, August of 1979 and they have one child, Kevin. Animals have always been an important part of her life. Right now she enjoys having two cats, one being 18 years and the other a one year old. They are a joy in her life.
Michelina Jordan
Michelina received her bachelors in Animal Science and a minor in Biology from MTSU in December of 2017. She has worked at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic for 9 years. She is one of our Fear Free team leaders. Michelina is also a certified Animal Assisted Therapist, who owns and manages Mini Creek Farms (an animal assisted therapy program in Lascassas, TN). Michelina lives on a farm with her husband Michael, daughter Marina, and 20 pets (and counting). Michelina plans to continue working at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic while her animal assisted therapy program develops.
Kimberly Gardner
Kimberly is originally from Georgia and moved to Murfreesboro in the fall of 2016 to begin her education at MTSU. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in the fall of 2019. She is currently working towards becoming a licensed veterinary technician. She has been with Murfreesboro Animal Clinic since February 2017. She has a love for animals of all kinds and has always dreamed of a career in the veterinarian field. She is a fear-free certified team member. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family and fur babies. She will be getting married to the love of her life on Halloween of 2020. She currently has nine fur babies that mean the world to her: Athena, Neptune, Aurora, Max, Sherbet, Rogue, Randy, Bocephus and Precious piggy.
Karri Heathcott
Karri is originally from Edwardsville, IL. Although she has only lived in Murfreesboro for two years, she has lived in Tennessee since 2003. She has been married for almost nineteen years to her high school sweetheart and has two children, Sydney and Adin. She also has two Siberian Huskies, Mojo and Mika. In her spare time, Karri keeps busy with her son’s sports and remodeling her home.
Sammy Mould
Sammy is originally from North Carolina but moved to Tennessee with her family in 2015. She is currently a Animal Science/General Science double major with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine. After graduating, she hopes to attend vet school and achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a Veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys reading, taking care of her family’s 23 animals and spending time outdoors.
Bri Dannehl
Bri is a senior at MTSU finishing her undergraduate degree in horse science and general science. After graduating, she hopes to attend a school of veterinary medicine. Having grown up in Louisiana, she loves wildlife and wildlife conservation. She enjoys spending time outdoors and on the water.
Shelby
Shelby is a Senior at MTSU studying to get her undergraduate degree as a Pre-Vet/General Science double major. She has been showing and competing with her Tennessee Walking Horses for 17 years. Shelby enjoys horseback riding and working with animals. She has 3 beautiful horses, and a wonderful Rottweiler named Annabelle.
Alyson Bigley
Alyson grew up in Toledo, Ohio but has lived in Murfreesboro for 12 years now. She has always had a love for animals since she was younger. She goes to Middle Tennessee State University and is starting her Junior year. She has been working at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic for 1 year. Her plan is to further her career by going to Veterinary school after she graduates from undergrad in 2021. In her free time, she loves spending time with her two dogs, Norman a three-year-old Lab and Sadie a three-year-old Blue Heeler.
Shannan
Shannan is originally from Texas she relocated to Murfreesboro 5 years ago. She has been with Murfreesboro animal clinic for over a year as a receptionist. She has 2 fur babies Saidy a Australian shepard mix and Garfield a domestic medium hair cat.
