Who are we?

Forever Fortunate Felines is a foster based cat rescue. Michela Onesti who is the President of Forever Fortunate Felines started her journey into cat rescue when she lost her cat Giles. Giles went outside one day and never returned. Michela searched for years for Giles and during her search, she visited many animal shelters such as Chicago Animal Care and Control. When she saw the number of cats in desperate need of rescue from high kill shelters, she was motivated to take action! And in Giles memory, Michela started Forever Fortunate Felines.Join the team

Our Organization

Forever Fortunate Felines mission is to save cats from high kill shelters and give them the love and care they deserve in foster homes until they are healthy and ready for adoption. We currently work with high kill shelters in Iowa, Chicago, Indiana, and Kentucky and we rescue cats in urgent need. We are a fully foster based organization which we see as a large advantage as our cats are not kept in cages/cat condos, they have the opportunity to socialize with other cats, dogs, kids in the foster home. Our cats truly become well socialized before being adopted. Additionally we pride ourselves on open communication between our foster parents and potential adopters which helps to ensure you understand your cats behavior before you adopt!
