Information

Dr. Dixon graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1996 and has spent the majority of his clinical practice here in the Nashville area. In his free time he enjoys cycling, watching movies, reading books, and cooking with his fiancée. Between them they have two dogs.

Dr. Barrett is a Nashville native, born and raised. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, and also holds a degree in forestry and geology from the University of the South. Dr. Barrett worked in Atlanta, GA in a mixed practice – emergency medicine and small animals – before moving back to Tennessee.

She has worked as a relief veterinarian ever since. Dr. Barrett also works for The Humane Association of Wilson County 1 – 2 days a week. She does free spays and neuters there for people who demonstrate a financial need.

Lucy enjoys knitting, reading, walks, and gardening. She is married to a real, live Georgia Cracker and has 3 children, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 3 gerbils! Dr. Barrett has worked for us on Saturdays since 2005… we are blessed to have her as part of our staff.

Dr. Richards purchased Volunteer Veterinary Clinic in 1970. In 2005 he sold the clinic to Dr. Brandon Dixon and retired. He now spends his days “horsing around” with his Tennessee Walking Horses and is still a very important part of all our lives!
