Through more than 20 years of practice, Dr. Spindel continues to instill his vision, energy, and standard of excellence for veterinary medicine in all of his employees; ensuring your pets are in the best hands from the moment you walk through our doors.

At Animal Ark, we value our community and take every opportunity to contribute to it. Dr. Spindel volunteers with many local rescue organizations and our entire team supports many local, animal events here in Winston Salem. We also serve as a drop-off location for all injured wildlife.
Our hospital is stocked with the latest in veterinary equipment to aid in the treatment of pets. We have full in-house laboratory services, digital X-ray machines, color-flow doppler ultrasound, as well as a comprehensive surgical facility.
We provide microchipping, advanced dentistry, laser therapy, and most recently became certified to provide Stem Cell and Monoclonal antibody therapy. We also offer boarding for our feline friends and exotic pets.

Our Doctors

Mitchell Spindel, DVM

Dr. Spindel earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 1995. He practiced in Syracuse, New York for two years before he and his wife relocated to beautiful North Carolina. Although Dr. Spindel loves treating dogs and cats, he also has a passion for unusual pets like birds, reptiles, and small mammals. He’ll even care for injured birds of prey, wallabies, kinkajous, and an occasional Coati mundi.

Active in the Winston-Salem community, Dr. Spindel is the veterinarian for Kaleideum North Museum (formerly knows as Sci-Works) and Chairman of the Animal Adoption & Rescue Foundation board. He was instrumental in helping to build the dog park at Tanglewood, as well as heavily involved with animal organizations such as the Forsyth Humane Society and Humane Solutions.  Dr. Spindel’s free time is spent planning his next construction project, mountain biking, practicing yoga, and spending time with his wife, four children, and a plethora of pets.

Beth Eubanks, DVM, CCRP

Dr. Eubanks is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. She attended NC State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Most of her veterinary career has been spent practicing in both Forsyth and Davie County. Recently, she became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and works in the “tugboat” building next door at Clemmons Animal Rehab and Therapy. Dr. Eubanks currently resides here in Clemmons with her husband, two sons, two dogs, and one cat. She also enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

Joshua Warden, DVM

Dr. Warden was born in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving around the Oklahoma City area and the Chicago area, he’s been a resident of Clemmons, NC since 2001! His Bachelor of Science is in Animal Science, and he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from NC State. Dr. Warden has 6 snakes, 2 leopard geckos, 2 milk frogs, a box turtle, a cat named Owen, and a dog named Ash. In his free time, he does a fair amount of photography and hiking, but just enjoys being outdoors whenever possible. Dr. Warden occasionally volunteers with the Wildlife Resources Commission doing wildlife surveys, and we are so glad to have him aboard the Ark as our new exotic pet doctor!

Bethaney Acton, DVM

Dr. Bethaney Acton is originally from Syracuse, Indiana. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Purdue University and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine is from Lincoln Memorial University. For the past 2 years Dr. Acton worked as a mixed animal vet in Tazewell, VA before coming to join us at the Ark. She has three dogs (Ryder, Indy, and Kip), as well as a leopard gecko, rabbit, tortoise, and fish. Dr. Acton loves going hiking and kayaking as well as shopping. She is open to seeing all animals here at the Ark and we are so excited to have her here with us!
